National FFA Week FFA picture

Barren County High School FFA Chapter is one of the largest in the state of Kentucky serving 180 members. 
We are proud to support the farm heritage of our area in recognizing these outstanding leaders and students.
BCHS FFA Chapter horse judging team finished 1st in state qualifying them to compete at Nationals.
All CDE teams placed in top 10 in state.
Senior Bradon Burks serves as the Barren River Region Vice-President.

BCHS Senior Earns Microsoft Invite Kylee Pipgrass

Kylee Pipgrass, a senior at Barren County High School has won first place for Microsoft Word and PowerPoint 2013 in the Microsoft Office Specialist Fall State Championship. Kylee will be invited to showcase her expert skills using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint at the 2017 Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) U.S. National Championship in Orlando, Florida June 20 - 22.

BCHS Cheer Competes at UCA Nationals BCHS Cheer Team

Congratulations to the Barren County High School Cheerleaders for competing at the 2017 National High School Cheerleading Championships! They received 3rd in the game day competition, 4th in worlds and 10th in the routine competition against 33 of the best coed teams in the country.

2017 Barren County Youth & Sports League Registration Begins (Ages 5-18 Year Old) Baseball logo

2017 Spring baseball/softball registration begins February 1st.  Signups will be held every Saturday in the month of February from 12:00 - 4:00 PM at Jackie Browning Park or at any T-League basketball game.  You may also pick up a signup form at your child's school or online an return it to the school.  All applications and payments must be returned by February 25, 2017.  For more information and to download the registration forms click the link above.  

Barren County Non-Traditional Instruction Days - iLearn@home iLearn@home logo

We are pleased to announce that Barren County is approved for 2016-2017 school year to continue the Non-Traditional Instruction Plan known as iLearn@home.  The Barren County School District was selected last year as one of thirty-one new districts to participate in this waiver program, and for 2016-2017 will join 71 other school districts to look at instruction on snow days (or other days school would not be in session) differently.

Barren County iLearn@Home Days will be the first 5 weather-related closing days this year.  As of Dec 1st all schools will be ready to implement, and our students and parents will know what to expect if weather dictates a closing in the coming weeks.  Read more about it the state approved waiver here.
