Beginning Micro Soft Excel – Mondays and Wednesdays, February 6 – 15, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Barren County High School. In this class you will learn how to use basic Excel formulas, basic menu functions and learn basic terms and definitions. You will also learn how to create Excel spreadsheets, save and name the worksheets, and format data with the spreadsheets. Debbie Russell, Instructor. Cost: $35

Beginning Pastels Tuesdays, February 7 – March 14, 12:45 -2:45 p.m. at Western Kentucky University – Glasgow Campus. Come explore the beautiful medium of soft pastels in an encouraging, positive and supportive setting. Thru this introductory class participants will learn about what pastels are, how to use and apply them, and develop an understanding of the tools and supplies needed to work with them. Two methods of starting a new work, and various ways of “laying down” color, blending, and mark making will be taught. Advisement on how pastels should be matted and framed will be covered as well. Class is for ages 8 and above. Pastels, paper, supplies and subject matter will be provided. Lorie Short, instructor. Cost: $60

Beginning Micro Soft Excel – Tuesdays and Thursdays, February 7 – 16, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Barren County High School. Students will learn the basics of setting up a spreadsheet with formulas and customization. Tina Wilson, Instructor. Cost: $35

Painting - Just for Kids Level II – Thursdays, February 9 - March 16, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. at the Happy Valley Learning Center. This class allows the child to create a painting using his/her own topic choice at the appropriate skills level. They will execute previous techniques and learn new ones. Class is for ages 6-12. Patty Hughes, Instructor. Cost $35

Drivers’ Education – Saturdays, February 18 – May 13, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Barren County High School. Class will meet 10 times and student will complete 6 hours of individual driving time. Class sessions will consist of speakers, videos, discussion. A textbook will be provided during class. Driver’s permit required. Bob Blair, Instructor. Cost: $175

Acrylic Painting – Tuesdays, February 14 – March 21, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Glasgow Baptist Church. Class is structured for beginner to the advanced student to work at their own pace and explore the vast world of acrylic painting. Instruction is provided on composition, principles of design, color theory, and exploring a variety of painting techniques.  This class is for ages 13 and above.  Supply list provided upon registration.  Lorie Short, instructor. Cost: $40 

Peg Loom Knitting – Mondays, February 20 - March 6, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Glasgow High School. You will learn how to perform basic moves with a few simple items to create a scarf. We will discuss the different types and ply of yarns. Using this knowledge, you can later make hats, shawls, etc. without the hassle of counting or working with needles. Class is for ages 10 and above. Bonnie DeVore, Instructor. Cost: $30
