Work Ready Skills Advisory Committee Awards $6.84 Million for Barren Regional Technical Campus Project A reception was held on Saturday, February 4 to celebrate receiving the grant.

February 2, 2017 - The Barren County Board of Education, lead partner in the Barren Regional Technical Campus Project, has been awarded $6.84 million in the first round of Kentucky Work Ready Skills Initiative funding.  The Kentucky Work Ready Skills Initiative is aimed at building a highly trained, modernized workforce in the Commonwealth to meet the needs of employers and promote sustainable incomes for Kentuckians.

Frazier Selected as DPP for Barren County Schools Anthony Frazier

Anthony Frazier, Principal at North Jackson Elementary School, has been selected as the new Director of Pupil Personnel (DPP) for Barren County Schools. Mr. Frazier began his career as a teacher at Hiseville Elementary in Barren County. Anthony then became the 1st Assistant Principal at Red Cross Elementary before becoming the Principal at Park City. Mr. Frazier was selected by district personnel to serve as the 1st Principal of the newly built North Jackson Elementary School in Barren County.

Retirees Recognized for Years of Service to Barren County Schools BC Retirees 2017

Teachers, Staff Members, and Administrators were recognized at the Barren County Board of Education Meeting on May 11th.  The ceremony was held as a part of the Board’s recognition program in the Barren County High Auditorium.  Careers and accomplishments of all the retirees were celebrated.  Bo Matthews, Superintendent of Barren County Schools stated, “When listening to the accomplishments of each retiree, it’s obvious why our district has been so successful and how we’ve become a Distinguished District.”
