Erika has been married to Jonathan DeVore, also a Barren County High School graduate, for the past 9 years.  Erika and Jonathan have two daughters; Adalynn (4) and Avery (7) who will become Eastern Wildcats this fall. Erika’s parents are long time Barren County educators.  Her mother, Brenda Johnson, was an English teacher for 33 years in the district, and her father, Leroy Johnson, served as a teacher and assistant principal at Barren County High School for more than 27 years.

Superintendent Bo Matthews stated, “We are pleased to announce that Mrs. Erika DeVore will be the new principal of Eastern Elementary School.  Eastern has had a long history of being one of the top schools in the state of Kentucky.  Under Mrs. DeVore’s leadership, Eastern will become a high performing school that is built on teamwork, consistency, the latest educational research and putting the students of Eastern at the center of the decision making process.  The success she has witnessed at her previous school will be seen at Eastern.  We are glad to have her join our district as a dynamic administrator.”
