Hour of Code Week is December 4-10, 2017
“The Hour of Code is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries. Anyone, anywhere can organize an Hour of Code event.” www.hourofcode.com
“Code.org® is a non-profit dedicated to expanding access to computer science, and increasing participation by women and underrepresented minorities. Our vision is that every student in every school should have the opportunity to learn computer science, just like biology, chemistry or algebra. Code.org organizes the annual Hour of Code campaign which has engaged 10% of all students in the world, and provides the leading curriculum for K-12 computer science in the largest school districts in the United States.” code.org
For classroom activities for all ages, go to https://code.org/learn. We have also attached a file that list an extensive number of activities for all ages & can share it with you to your Google Drive if you would like to have it that way.
Also, check out the activities at Khan Academy…Khan Academy.org
If you students participate in Hour of Code activities this week, please take pictures & put them in the Public Folder (U Drive) entitled 2017 Hour of Code Pictures (there is a folder for each of your schools in each), post them on your websites or school Facebook pages. We would love to share them!
