AT Student is Honored Guest at State Capitol
Olivia Crowe, a sixth grade student at Austin Tracy Elementary School, spent March 20th in Frankfort as a Student Legislative Page. Olivia was chosen to represent Southern Barren Family Resource Center. Olivia was assigned to Senator David Givens for the day. Mr. Givens explained the agenda for the day and what each bill would be about that was discussed.

One bill that Olivia was interested in and was hoping it would be on the agenda for the day was whether the State was going to excuse some school days due to this year's inclement weather. She learned that the House and Senate had two different ideas on the topic, and it was going back and forth between them.

Olivia said that she enjoyed the whole experience to see her State Senator in action!

Friendly Reminder

This is just a friendly reminder that when bad weather occurs the One Call Phone System makes the first call to our families.  The district will send out a One Call whenever a determination is made to call off school. The call comes as soon as they decide – so you might get a call between 5:00 and 6:00 am on some days. If we are in school and the decision is made to dismiss early the One Call System will call all numbers during the day.   Barren County School District closings or delays due to inclement weather will be announced via the One Call notification system and posted/distributed as follows:
