BCHS Principal Selection Survey

The Barren County High School SBDM members request your input as part of the principal selection process by participating in a survey. This survey can be completed on-line at by clicking here. A hard copy version will also be available in the front office at Barren County High School. If you prefer to use the online version, but do not have internet access, computers will be available in the school media center from 7:30-3:30 daily during the survey window. The window for the completion of this survey will begin on Thursday, April 23rd, and end on Thursday, April 30th, at midnight. The survey will include criteria for principal selection to be ranked in order of importance. A comment box will also be included. The council hopes the participation in this survey of students, parents, staff, and community members will provide valuable insight in the selection of our next Barren County High School principal.

BCHS Summer Cheer Clinic

BCHS Cheerleaders will host a cheer clinic on May 28 & 29, 2015 at the Barren County Trojan Academy gym.  The clinic will run from 9:00 - 12:30 each day and the cost is $35 per child and will include a t-shirt, snacks, drinks, and experienced cheer instruction or $30 per child without a t-shirt.  Click here for more information & registration form.  

Fishing Team Members Qualify for State

Hunter Harper and Hunter Williams of BCHS Bass fishing team have both qualified for the State Bass Fishing Championship on Kentucky Lake next month. They where 1 of 14 teams who qualified this past weekend by being in the top 14 of 86 boats. They did so by catching a limit of 5 fish weighting 7 plus pounds.  Good luck to both Hunter Harper and Hunter Williams in the State Fishing Championship.

BC Community Fashion Show a Success

Barren County High School business and marketing students hosted the 2015 BC Community Fashion Show on March 21, 2015. Students organized and led the successful event. From contacting and networking with community business leaders, to designing the marketing plan and tools for the event, to serving as models and emcees, students were infused into every aspect of the fashion show.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance at the high school through Glenna Gardner or Brandy Pendygraft.  They will also be available the nights of the performance.  We do not have Will Call.

Rachel Perkins Receives Scholarship for PLTW Training

Rachel Perkins (PLTW Engineering Instructor) has been selected to receive the George M. Binder KSPE Past President’s Scholarship for Project Lead The Way. The total amount of this scholarship is $2,500 and will be used toward the PLTW tuition and expenses for her summer module training.
