Autism Awareness Month

April Is Autism Awareness Month

Autism

As you may be aware April is Autism Awareness month!  On Thursday, April 27th 2017, North Jackson Elementary will be “Lighting It up Blue” to celebrate and raise awareness for Autism.  We are encouraging all students and staff to wear the color blue to school that day.  Together we will create a voice advocating for the rights, inclusion and wellbeing of individuals with Autism in our school, and community. The idea of “Light It up Blue” was created as a way to shine a bright light on autism as a growing health priority.  Please join us in raising awareness!

In addition, the District conducted an Art Showcase that allowed each school to showcase the artistic talents of many students. The art work was displayed throughout the event. The overall Art Showcase was coordinated by district resource teacher, Mrs. Tara Griffith.
