Barren County Non-Traditional Instruction Days - iLearn@home iLearn@home logo

Jan 6, 2017 - 1st iLearn@home day - see below for more information on what to expect.

We are pleased to announce that Barren County is approved for 2016-2017 school year to continue the Non-Traditional Instruction Plan known as iLearn@home.  The Barren County School District was selected last year as one of thirty-one new districts to participate in this waiver program, and for 2016-2017 will join 71 other school districts to look at instruction on snow days (or other days school would not be in session) differently.

Barren County iLearn@Home Days will be the first 5 weather-related closing days this year.  As of Dec 1st all schools will be ready to implement, and our students and parents will know what to expect if weather dictates a closing in the coming weeks.  Read more about it the state approved waiver here.

The Barren County High School Orchestra has some fantastic news! They have been chosen as one of only eight high school orchestras in the country to participate in the National Band and Orchestra Festival at Carnegie Hall in New York on April 15, 2017. We really could use your help as we rely on donations and fundraisers to pay for our travel expenses in order for our students to participate in this once in a lifetime event. Please select a sponsorship level below to show your support for the BCHS Orchestra Program. If you have no objections to your generosity being publicized, we will be including the names and levels of all donors in each printed concert program for next year as well as announcing them at each performance. If you have any questions, call Stacey Owen at 270-646-5900 or Amberly Bush at 270-791-8694.
