There have been too many wonderful things that have happened to the students in Barren County to mention, but everyone will agree that our students are OUTSTANDING at everything they do!  As we close this school year, we wish nothing but the best for the Class of 2013 and we look forward to another successful year.  We are BC!

BCHS TROJANETTE SOFTBALL CAMP

BCHS Trojanette Softball Camp will be held on July 17, 18, 19, 2013 at the Barren County High School softball field.  Any girl in grades 1-8 are welcome to attend. The cost is $30.  For more information contact coach Kevin Jackson at Barren County High School.
 
 
SUMMER CAMPS: BARREN SCHOOLS 21ST CENTURY COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTERS


Barren County Schools 21st Century Commnity Learning Centers presents Summer Scholars Opportunities, which include summer camps for students of all ages.  We are providing camps at every Barren County School from May through August.  In addition Barren County School District is also offering childcare services at Red Cross Elementary from May 23rd through July 26th, 2013.  Click learn more for detalis.

ROOFIN' IT AT ATES

Students reach first reading goal as a part of the ATES reading incentive. 

K-6 STUDENTS AT AUSTIN-TRACY TAKE COLLEGE TOURS

On March 21, 2013, ATES students in grades K-6 attended college visits.  K-1 students went to WKU-Glasgow, 2-3 students went to Lindsey Wilson College, and 4-6 students went to Campbellsville University.  These tours were fun and enlightening for our students as they begin to develop ideas for life beyond K-12 education!

 

JACOB DEFEVERS WINS STATE POSTER CONTEST

ATES fourth grader Jacob DeFebers won at the school, district, region, and state level for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture Poster Contest in the K-4 division. Congratulations to Jacob for receiving state recognition for his artistic and creative abilities. His poster now goes on to the state fair for judging with the top five going to national competition in New York.  We are so proud of you, Jacob! Go Eagles!

JAYLEE SANDERS PLACES FIRST IN STATE POSTER CONTEST

ATES fifth grader Jaylee Sanders won at the school, district, region, and state level for the Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl Poster Contest.  Congratulations to Jaylee for receiving state recognition for her artistic and creative abilities.  We are so proud of you!  Go Eagles!

SYDNEY BALLARD RECEIVES FIRST PLACE IN REGION

Sydney Ballard, ATES fourth grade student, received first place in written composition at the Regional Governor's Cup Competition.  Congratulations Sydney...we are proud of you!  Go Eagles!

TeachMeet is a unique experience often referred to as an “Unconference” where attendees rotate between 20 minute info sessions focusing on educational technology. 
Topics such as; Web 2.0 tools, learning management systems,wikis, blogs, social networks, Google tools, Lync, Skype, and much  more. 

Door prizes and goodies will be given away at the SmackDown closing session.
Registration and breakfast begin at 8:00 am.
