My name is Jessica Britt. I'm excited to begin my second year teaching preschool. I feel like I've been at Austin Tracy all of my life. I was a student for 7 years, a substitute teacher while I attended WKU, an AmeriCorps member for the 2015-2016 school year, and 21st Century Coordinator for the 2017-2018 school year. Austin Tracy is the best place to be!
I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was 8 years old. I played teacher before with my cousin and my dolls, but I made the "official" decision in second grade. My second grade teacher changed my life and my world. I knew I wanted to do the same for others. She showed me that doctors, sickness, diagnosis- everything that I had heard for 8 years could not stop me from being whatever I wanted to be. I've outgrown the obstacles I faced then, but I haven't forgotten the influence of a great teacher. I aspire to have that kind of impact on my students.
I graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2014 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. I'm currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education.
I'm proud to have been born and raised in this community. I spend my spare time on my family's farm picking pumpkins, peaches, and tomatoes.
I'm excited to spend to this year with your child. If you ever have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.
