In order to continue your child’s education despite our days off due to inclement weather or other events, Park City Elementary and Barren County Schools are participating in the iLearn@home program.
Our non-traditional day plan will be delivered utilizing the various systems that we have in place and have found great success with over the years. These resources will be primarily in print version for those with accessibility issues. At the school level, our grade-level teams and cross-curriculum teams will provide support for the development of rigorous learning experiences tied to the Kentucky Academic Standards (KAS).
The non-traditional instructional day plan will utilize the district webpage and teacher developed resources. Please keep in mind that material covered is practice of previous learned skills and not new material.
The Barren County Schools will be utilizing the first FIVE weather related closing days, as iLearn@home days. This schedule will better allow you as a family to know when these days will be used.
Notification of an iLearn@home instructional day will be via the One Call Now system and Polar Reports on various television/radio stations.
Students should be able to complete the work within three hours. This is a Win-Win for students and staff, as we are able to use our iLearn@home day instead of having to make up a day in June. Students will receive timely feedback from teachers. Teachers will be available throughout the instructional day(unless extenuating circumstances prohibit availability), 7:20 a.m. - 2:20 p.m., via e-mail and 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., via phone.
