Meet me: Hi, I am Erica Shaw. I teach Preschool here at Red Cross and work with Edwina Spillman. We are known as Ms. Erica and Ms. Wina. I are big fans of the beach, turtles, ocean, and Elvis Presley. I have been teaching at Red Cross for 7 years in Preschool. I worked one year at Memorial Elementary in Hardyville (Hart County). Before teaching I worked with the First Steps Program helping children birth-3 years of age. I attended WKU where I received my Bachelors' degree in IECE and my Master's degree in Advanced IECE.
Background: I grew up in LeGrande, which is in Hart County, and graduated from Hart County High School. I soon met my husband Micah Shaw from Glasgow. We got married in June of 2006 and now reside in Glasgow. We have two children Jake (who is 11) and Presley (who is 8). I recently fulfilled one of my childhood dreams and bought a Saint Bernard, that I love dearly and her name is Roxy. As a family we enjoy camping, 4-wheeling, going to truck-pulls, and spending time with family. We are also Youth Leaders at Hiseville Christian Church.
Ms. Erica’s Mission Statement
My mission is to teach children to love learning and to show them that no matter how SMALL they are, what they learn now will have a BIG impact on their future.
