Welcome to my teacher webpage! I am Heather Wilson Shelton. I am married to a hardworking farmer, Dewayne, and we have three daughters, Emmory (10), Stella Jean (5), and Ora Rose (1).This is my tenth year teaching and third year teaching at Red Cross. I am thrilled to be teaching another year at RCE. I hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology, a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling, and a Master's Degree in Exceptional Education, and a Rank I in administration all from WKU.
I began my teaching career in Allen County. Prior to teaching, I spent five years working as a Mental Health Counselor. This year I will be co-teaching Reading with Ms. Hendrick and Mrs. King and Math with Mrs. Poland and Mrs. Lockhart; as well as, teaching writing, social skills, reading, and math in the smaller setting.
In my classroom, students learn social and study skills that will help them become successful in multiple environments. We work hard each and everyday to become better and more productive members of our school and communities. We will be learning about the 7 Habits of Highly Successful Kids and incorporating these habits into what we do each day.
