Instructional Services Division
The Instructional Services Division has the mission to support the school system’s priorities by focusing on the instructional core through the development and implementation of curriculum and instructional programs that build 21st century skills, academic proficiency, and prepare students to be transition ready for life in the future.
Major responsibilities of the offices include:
- Develop, implement, and revise, as needed, the pre-K–12 curriculum to ensure alignment with the Kentucky Academic Standards
- Provide direct support to schools to facilitate effective implementation of curriculum, assessments, and instructional programs based on the best-practices and research
- Support the design and delivery of professional learning for staff that ensures
- fidelity of curriculum implementation across all schools
- life-long development of knowledge and skills of teachers & staff
- Refine instructional programs that meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with disabilities, those who are gifted, English language learners, and students who are at risk of underachievement
- Nurture a culture of innovations in teaching and learning in order to provide an academically challenging curriculum, a more personalized learning environment, and utilization of cutting edge teaching and technology
