The purpose of the Student Council is: to promote cooperation among students, faculty and administration of Barren County High School; to promote high standards of personal conduct in leadership, honesty, loyalty, and courtesy; to promote better school spirit and morale; to strengthen relations with the community; to promote, encourage and direct student
activities and develop a better line of communication within the school setting. Members are chosen by a variety of ways. Each class has two council representatives elected by the entire class, two members elected from the faculty and 1 member chosen by the grade level principal for a total of five council members from each grade level. The council has five officers: president, president-elect, vice president, secretary and reporter.
