KDE Changes Mask Mandate for Schools Mask Mandate

September, 1, 2020 - The Kentucky Department of Education imposed a new mandate today regarding face masks.  The state’s Healthy at Schools plan now dictates that students in first through twelfth grade wear masks in all settings regardless of social distancing.  The only exceptions are when students are eating or drinking or when they are outdoors with social distancing in place.  KDE requires us to follow this mandate in order to continue with in-person classes, and we will provide masks daily to any student who needs one.  We know this is a difficult issue, and we ask for your cooperation and patience.   We believe the value of in-person instruction is immeasurable, and we can’t emphasize enough how much we want to keep our doors open to students.  We have begun the school year with a strong start.  This is a fluid situation, and we know circumstances can change quickly.  We will monitor our data on a daily basis to determine if we can continue to operate safely.   Thank you for your continued support.  Please stay the course with us!  We are BC!
