On September 14th, two Barren County Middle School students, Anna Quenzer and Hanna Whitehouse (pictured above), attended Bass Day at the University of Louisville. They were able to learn in small groups about bass pedagogy and work with one of the top bass players in the country. To conclude the event, they performed a few pieces as a sixty plus member bass ensemble in Comstock Hall.
The Kentucky Cello Club hosted a cello day at Western Kentucky University on September 27th. Three of the BCMS cello students attended masterclasses and group classes. These students (pictured above) were Parker Moran, Presley Neagle, and Grant Branham. They prepared music together and concluded this event with a concert in the Fine Arts Building recital hall.
Among several students nominated, five BCMS students were accepted to practice and perform with the University of Louisville Honors Orchestra on October 12th. These students (pictured above) were Hanna Whitehouse, Brylie Oke,Lauren Pedigo, Natalie Reeves, and Grant Branham. Barren County students have been attending this event since it was first started. The students worked with faculty at UofL to prepare their music for the performance that evening. It was a spectacular concert!
