Erika Devore

Barren County Schools has named Erika DeVore as the district's new Director of Instruction, Federal Programs, and After-School Programming.

DeVore brings more than two decades of experience in education, including 12 years as a school administrator. Since 2017, she has served as principal of Eastern Elementary School, where she has been recognized for her commitment to student achievement, instructional excellence, and building strong relationships with students, families, and staff. Prior to leading Eastern Elementary, she served as principal of Clarkson Elementary from 2014 to 2017 and taught English at Grayson County High School for 10 years.

She earned a bachelor's degree in English from Georgetown College in 2004 and a master's degree in Instructional Leadership from Western Kentucky University in 2009. She also earned her Rank I and Supervisor of Instruction endorsement from WKU in 2016.

In her new role, DeVore will oversee district elementary curriculum and instructional initiatives, federal programs, and after-school programming. She will work closely with school leaders and teachers to support high-quality instruction and ensure students continue to have access to meaningful learning opportunities both during and beyond the school day.

"Erika is a proven instructional leader who has consistently put students first," said Superintendent Amy Irwin. "She is committed to building strong school communities, supporting teachers, and developing opportunities to help students to thrive. We are excited to welcome her to this district leadership role and look forward to the impact she will have across Barren County Schools."

DeVore said she is grateful for the opportunity to serve students, staff, and families in a new capacity.

"I have been honored to serve as Eastern's principal for the past nine years, and I am equally thrilled and honored to continue to serve the staff, students, and families of all Barren County Schools," she said.

Her appointment reflects Barren County Schools' continued commitment to investing in strong instructional leadership and creating opportunities for every student to succeed.
